Bryan & Rebe McReynolds (Camden, Myla & Keely) – We have been with MTW for 5 years serving our African brothers and sisters in areas of community and economic development, mentoring students, and sharing God’s truth and grace through personal relationships. God is equipping, enabling and humbling our spirits as we prepare to return to Africa while recruiting a team to go with us. Our desire is simply to join the work that God has begun amongst the Nyamwezi by building relationships founded on His grace. It’s only in our union with Christ and the body of saints that we will find the courage, strength and perseverance to take the next steps.
A MESSAGE FROM THE TIMO TEAM LEADERS
DO YOU WANT TO GO TO TANZANIA
AS PART OF A TIMO TEAM?
you join. We provide individuals who join this team, led by the McReynolds, a significant
head start in fundraising and continued support throughout their time in Tanzania.
WALKING WITH THE NYAMWEZI
We will be located in mid-western Tanzania, a little more than 100 miles directly south of Lake Victoria. This region is the homeland of the Nyamwezi, a bantu-speaking people group with little to no church presence. Many of the Nyamwezi in this area are farmers, growing fruits and vegetables for their households as well as tobacco to sell in local markets. We hope to enter into their culture with the humble posture of learners, seeking to build on the areas of truth and grace already present in the community that point to the Kingdom of God. We are looking for individuals and families to join us for a two-year commitment as we learn together how to live and share our faith cross-culturally. Our desire is for the team to develop a vision and passion for long- term service in Africa and the seeds of a church to be planted that is Christ-centered in its worship and Nyamwezi in its culture.
HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED
JOIN. We need individuals and families to join us in Tanzania for a 2-year commitment. This ministry provides opportunities for people with a variety of gifts, abilities, and work experiences. This will be a challenging and life-changing event for each team member, but we have the promise that “God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
PRAY. Pray that two years in Tanzania provides our team members a lasting foundation of knowledge, principles, and practical experience in living out their walk with Christ in a cross-cultural African setting. For the Nyamwezi we will be living with, pray that they see the love of Christ in both our words and our actions. Pray also that they will realize how God has always been there, drawing them to his throne of grace and mercy.
